Current teachers:
Michael Stebbins Michael has been practicing yoga for 12 years and completed 200 hour teacher training in December of 2010. With yoga, Michael discovered a much welcomed method of stress relief from his work as executive director of a Santa Monica architecture firm. What started out as a once-weekly supplement to a gym routine slowly became his sole form of exercise as he realized the physical and mental benefits - as well as the challenges - of a regular practice. For Michael, yoga is not just an incredible physical workout, but also a path to healing: physically, mentally, and ultimately, spiritually.
“Yoga is a means to releasing old habits, negative programming, and in time, deep-seated tension stored in the body. It opens new ways of thinking about yourself and your world, and allows you to be at your best for those you care most about. What could be more important? ”
Michael designs his classes to suit the needs of his students. Most classes will incorporate a vigorous flow, deep stretches, breath control exercises (pranayama) and meditation.
Michael has been inspired by many teachers during the course of his practice. He is especially grateful to Brian Kest, Mathew Crowder , Govindas, Alyson Khan, Vytas, Rudy Mettia, and Travis Eliot for illuminating the path.
“All my best to you on your road to health and happiness.”
Arti Panjwani Kvam has been practicing yoga for seven years and completed her 200 hours of teacher training in July 2011. She is currently working on a 100 hour advanced teacher training and mentorship with her teacher, Annie Carpenter. Arti is inspired to teach yoga as a result of the transformations she has experienced through her own practice. For her, yoga is essential for cultivating compassion, tranquility and joy in today’s fast-paced world. Her beginner classes encourage students to focus on the breath and to become more aware of the body, while working safely at their own pace. Arti is honored to share this practice and deeply grateful to all of the wonderful teachers who have guided her (and continue to guide her) on this path.
Emily Rasmussen is an experienced practitioner of both Hatha and Kundalini yoga. Emily invites you to come -as you are- and explore with her the ancient, healing wisdom of yoga.
Jennifer Repo, has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. Having been an avid runner all her life, she found that yoga was the perfect complement to tight hamstrings and a busy mind. She has been blessed with studying under amazing teachers including Bryan Kest, Annie Carpenter, Ally Hamilton and many more. Jennifer's classes are designed for all levels with a focus on beginner's yoga. She teaches a light vinyasa flow with emphasis on poses designed to create space. Jennifer seeks to create a beautiful, fun environment for all to heal, breathe, and transform through the physical postures of yoga.
